Programs & workshops

As the artist in residence at New Roots Charter School, I was tasked with revamping the school's social media presence and creating a curriculum for a public art program, which was funded by several grants. The class was comprised of all grades in the high school, and the goal of the program was to create a mural that was based on their vision of a sustainable future. The 8-week program covered the elements of design, case studies of notable artists, and techniques of mural making. All of these efforts culminated in the completion of a 40 ft mural project directly across from the campus. The design was crafted through discussion and sketches from the students about what they saw as a solarpunk reality where communities worked together to grow food and heal each other and the planet. Through Terrance's instruction, the group of students painted the mural during their intensive week and were celebrated in local news outlets. The mural was featured on CNN and won best mural in the City of Ithaca in 2026.

 Philadelphia 76ers community paint day

This project was spearheaded by the Delaware Art Museum and One Village Alliance for the MLK Day of Service at the museum. The activity, which spanned several days of the "Raising Kings" series of events, was designed and assisted by Terrance as it was painted at several locations by different youth groups in the city of Wilmington. The finished painting then served as the base where participants of all ages wrote what Dr. King represents to them in today's time on colored paper and adhered it to the painting, creating a collage of quotes and thoughts.

Through a partnership with Rockcorps and Toyota, the Philadelphia 76ers held a community painting day at a local Philadelphia joint naval base. The event was attended by hundreds and featured a massive mural painting exercise designed by Terrance. Participants included the teams' players, coaching staff, servicemen and women, and the community. The exercise consisted of five 10X20 ft murals that were painted together by everyone and then donated to local elementary schools to be hung as banners. The players had a blast as they said it was a great creative experience. The event also featured backpack giveaways, performances, and opportunities for youth to meet the entire team.

Youth leadership summer program

During the summer of 2019, Terrance was brought on by the Interfaith Community Housing and Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha to guide a group of teens to create a mural about leadership in the neighborhood. The program paid the students to get real entrepreneurial experience and learn from an established member of the community about how they go about their business processes. The students came up with the imagery, and the mural was painted on a local bodega, which breathed new life into the area. During the program, the students were also coached by Terrance on different aspects of starting a business and creative problem-solving. The students also learned how to express themselves through art.

This project at the Hun School of Princeton included a Black history program and an art workshop focusing on storytelling through illustration. Due to the pandemic, the workshops were held virtually, and each student designed individual concepts to tell their own story. Terrance instructed the students through a creative exercise that guided them to create a heart "self-portrait," which prompted the class to think of the things they love and incorporate them into the drawing. Meant as a healing and critical thinking experiment, Terrance worked with the students through multiple sessions creating their works of art.

ADDIDAS SHOE LAUNCH ACTIVATION

Through his company Vibepro LLC, Terrance has served as a contractor in the capacity of an art instructor for many organizations and institutions. Some of the organizations Terrance has partnered with include the following: The Delaware Institute for Arts Education, The Delaware Contemporary Museum, The Learning Farm, Belle Sherman Elementary, The Christina Cultural Arts Center, The Grand Opera House, The Community School of Music and Art, and many more. Terrance has also done classes for free for the community at parks and community centers.

This collaboration between Adidas and Live Breathe Futbol was an activation in the Philadelphia convention center for Adidas's newest "Predator" shoe release. The event featured 7 x 4 ft murals of the shoe in action and several stations for activities, including painting with Terrance.

Made in america music & art festival

The Made In America Music Festival is a major event in Philadelphia featuring the top music headliners from across the globe, with Terrance participating in a 3D mural "Cause Village" installation for back-to-back years. The Cause Village initiative highlighted several nonprofits in the area and was a place for festival-goers to learn how to connect with different causes to discover more about their work in the community. Terrance's contribution was aimed at tackling stigma around anxiety and mental health, as each letter represented a different social cause to raise awareness for.

Terrance was contracted to create a mural curriculum for the students of The Douglass School, which is an alternative school in Wilmington, Delaware. The class was designed to be a relaxing and affirming experience for the youth, some of whom had experienced traumatic events in their lives. Through the program, discussions about hobbies, goals, and challenges were infused in the creation of the mural. Once a week, Terrance visited the school and formed an "art club" of students who wanted to participate in the creation of the mural in the lobby of the school, and together the students completed the project with little to no experience painting.
